Man Spits on Officers

Police arrested a 30-year-old homelss man after they were called to for a report of a disturbance occurring in front of the bar on Thornton Avenue. Police said they found the man who refused to cooperate with police, refused to identify himself and spat on officers. The man was booked on suspicion of battery on an officer and booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Men Flee From Solo Car Crash

Two Newark men, both 19, were arrested early Saturday after they fled from a single-vehicle accident at Cedar Boulevard and Mowry Avenue around 2:32 a.m. Three occupants of the car who fled were contacted and one was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and a hit and run and the other was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The pair was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Co-Workers Fight

A 48-year-old San Pablo man was arrested after police officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 8484 Central Ave., which is said to be Quality Quartz Engineering, just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday.  Police said they received a call of a dispute between co-workers and as a result the San Pablo man was arrested on suspicion of battery. He was booked into Fremont City Jail.

Burglary and Theft

A 48-year-old woman from Pacoima, which is near San Fernando, was arrested and cited on suspicion of petty theft at Macys around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police investigated a home burglary on the 36000 block of Salisbury Drive that occurred between March 14 and 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday. No loss occurred but the home was entered from a side window, police said.

A 25-year-old Newark man was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary around 7 p.m. on Tuesday at and was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

A 28-year-old Newark man was arrested and cited on suspicion of possession of burglary tools and a 25-year-old Newark woman was arrested on possession of drug paraphernalia at just before 3:30 p.m. on Monday during a pedestrian stop at the on Thornton Avenue.

Drugs and Alcohol

A 51-year-old homeless woman was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after she called Newark police to report she was in a dispute with her sister. Police contacted the woman at EZ-8 Motel and booked her into Fremont City Jail.

A 45-year-old Newark man was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia when he was pulled over on Rockrose Drive near Bluegrass Court just before 10 a.m. Saturday. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A 37-year-old Santa Cruz man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after he was pulled over on Lafayette Avenue around 12:45 a.m. Saturday.

A 45-year-old Newark man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at Central Avenue near Byington Drive at 11:30 a.m. Friday.

A 29-year-old Newark man was arrested on suspicion of two active felony warrants, possession of concentrated cannabis and possession of a controlled substance around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. He was booked into Fremont City Jail.

A 24-year-old Newark man was arrested on suspicion of possession of concentrated cannabis (hashish and hashish oil) just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thornton and Peachtree avenues. He was booked into Fremont City Jail.

A 33-year-old Fremont man was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance after police responded to Port Tidewood Street around 9 p.m. Monday to a report of a disturbance. The man was booked into Fremont city Jail.

Miscellaneous

Officers arrested a 27-year-old Newark man after he fled from cops by jumping fences when they tried to contact him in a neighborhood near . The man was arrested on suspicion of resisting/delaying arrest and was booked into Fremont Jail.

Police investigated a hit-and-run collision that involved a water main in the parking lot at 5684 Thornton Ave. around 6:30 a.m. on Friday.
