Week in Review: Officers Honored As Heroes, Pot Club Co-Founders Admit Guilt

Three police officers were that saved a federal officer who was shot outside of his Newark home on the morning of Feb. 7. Officer Randy Ramos received top honors and was given a Distinguished Service Medal, while Sgt. John Kovach and Officer Karl Geser were given gold awards with the Newark Police Department for the medical assistance and police tactics performed to save U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Robert Smith.

The co-founders of a now-closed Newark medical marijuana dispensary known as North Bay Dispensary Collective admitted guilt in court this week. Law enforcement officers throughout Northern California have been searching for  Sierra Lamar a 15-year-old girl who grew up in Fremont and recently moved to Morgan Hill and has been missing since March 16. Authorities announced that Sierra’s bag was found on Sunday but there have been no significant developments in the investigation.
