Mobile Food Trucks Make Monday Debut

Newark residents will see three new trucks rolling into town as NewPark Street Eats makes its move to Monday evenings.

The Food Truck Mafia is bringing the Architect’s Kitchen, Tandoori Chicken USA and the WOW Truck along with them as they feed the foodies from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the .

A total of eight food trucks are scheduled to come into town:

ArKi (The Architect’s Kitchen)

• Crispy Fried Chicken is the star of this kitchen. ArKi will make its first ever appearance in the world of mobile food trucks tonight. They are also known for serving up grilled meats, fresh cut fries and homemade flatbread.

El Malecon

• El Malecon specializes in Mexican seafood. The menu can feature super ceviche tostadas, shrimp and cheese empanadas, super steak quesadillas and shrimp cocktails served in a coconut.

Grill Stars

• This Fremont-based food truck keeps makes sure each visit is a new experience by switching up their menu every week. They’re best known for their BBQ, which sometimes includes tri-tip platters, sliders of all kinds and BBQ pork nachos.

That’s Sweet! Dessert Truck

• Cupcakes — yummy, specialty cupcakes — are the stars of this gourmet truck. Flavors range from Salted Caramel and Maple Bacon to Red Velvet and Chocolate Vanilla. While it may sound perfect for a dessert, don't wait too long — their cupcakes sell out fast.

Twisted Chill

• Also a regular feature at the weekly food truck gathering is Twisted Chill, which offers self-serve soft-serve with eight rotating flavors and more than 20 toppings. Toppings include fresh organic fruit, candies, cereals and more.

• This truck specializes in noodle entrees, including Vietnamese noodle soups and vermicelli bowls and Pad Thai.

The WOW Truck

• The WOW Silog Truck specializes in silogs, a traditional Filipino breakfast served with garlic rice and fried egg. Their menu includes sweet sausage (longanisa), BBQ Chicken, cured pork (tocino), Spam, corned beef and more.

Tandoori Chicken USA

• Tandoori Chicken USA specializes in Indian food and their most reputable menu item: Tandoori Chicken Sandwiches. Hailing from El Sobrante, TC USA makes its first appearance in Newark today.
