For decades the corner shop of the Lido Faire Shopping Center has been home to a liquor store, but later this month it will all end.
, located along Newark Boulevard near Cedar Boulevard, will be closing its doors in the next two weeks, said owner Paul Sangha.
The closure comes nearly a decade after Sangha and his father took over the small liquor store, which also sells tobacco, food and other convenience story items.
Despite efforts to renew their lease, Sangha said the closing is the result of the expiration of their current lease and the landlord’s plans to transform the outdoor shopping plaza into one that is more focused on retail.
Because of the upcoming shutting down of the store, Sangha said everything in the store is on sale. From posters hanging on the walls to food on the shelves, all goods must go, he said.
Only cash is accepted but discounts can be bargained up to 50 percent, Sangha said. The tentative closing date is September 19, he added.
