¡VivaFest! is once again joining the Tech Musuem to bring some of this years’ largest blockbusters to its annual film festival. The films this year are going to be amazing!

Some of my favorite films this year include “Taco Shop” a comedy written by Rick Najera, “Tijuana Jews” a documentary on the unique community that blended Jewish and Mexican culture, “Mesquita y Mari” from the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, and “2012: The Beginning” a documentary on the Mayan Calendar. The films will also have discussion panels.

I absolutely can’t wait for the screening of the movie “Like Water for Chocolate” on September 14ththough. To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the movie, the screening is going to have a chocolate tasting! This tempting array of chocolates created by Casa de Chocolates is perfect for any chocolate lover and will fulfill anyones cravings after watching this movie.

All screenings , except Mesquita y Mari, will take place at the Hackworth IMAX Dome Theater at The Tech Museum. Visit  www.thetech.org or www.vivafest.org to see the complete schedule and to purchase tickets.  Ticket prices range from $8 to $20 per event, with discounts available for The Tech Museum members.

¡VivaFest! is a Mexican festival celebrating the heritage, culture, beauty, and art of Mexico. The Tech Museum will also host workshops so you can learn all types of Mexican dances, instruments, and music. It’s a great experience for anyone who wants to learn more about Mexican culture. You’ll even have the chance to perform on stage! So check out this special event and experience the beauty of Mexico. I hope to see all of you there!

I know! We're working on it. But if you've got a nice, high-res photo you'd like to showcase, feelRead More free to email it to me.

One story I tried to read had an ad covering 1/4 of it, and there was no way to make it go away.

Don't like it at all. "Change" isn't always for the better.
