Payless ShoeSource Employees Robbed at Gunpoint

Police are looking for the man who they say used a silver handgun and demanded cash at the store.

Investigators are seeking information about a man who robbed Payless ShoeSource employees at gunpoint in Newark last week, police said.
 
Officers responded to the Payless ShoeSource at 5904 Newpark Mall Road near Cedar Boulevard on a report of an armed robbery around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 24, police said.
 
Officers said the suspect entered the store and pointed a silver handgun at store employees and then demanded cash. The suspect left the store and fled in an unknown direction, according to police.
 
He is described as a Hispanic man, in his late 20s, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He had a goatee and was wearing faded blue jeans at the time of the armed robbery, police said.
