A 38-year-old Newark man was arrested over the weekend after forcing himself on a juvenile co-worker in Fremont, according to police.

The incident occurred Friday, Sept. 13 when the teen was accosted by the suspect at an Ardenwood area restaurant where the two worked.

The man allegedly put his arms around the girl and leaned in. When the victim moved away, the man grabbed her face and “used force to kiss her,” said Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.

The victim later told a relative, who alerted police the following day. The victim told police that it was the only time she was accosted by the co-worker, Bosques said.

Officers responded to the restaurant on Saturday where the suspect was identified and arrested on suspicion of annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18. The offense was charged as a misdemeanor, according to Bosques.
