A man was carjacked right in front of his home Sunday afternoon, according to the Newark Police Department.
Police said that the victim walked out of his home on the 6200 block of Lafayette Avenue at about 12:55 p.m. when he was confronted by two suspects.
One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, the other with a large knife. They demanded that the victim hand over his car keys and wallet.
The suspects fled north on Newark Boulevard in the victim’s car.
The suspects were described as black male adults in their 20s. They were last seen in the victim’s green 2001 Honda Civic, license plate number 6FZA129.
The victim told authorities that he did not recognize the suspects.
