Schilling Elementary School won the boys championship basketball game Friday, April 26 vs. Kennedy Elementary School in an exciting game.
It concluded the NUSD and Newark Recreation and Community Services March Madness Tournament which included all 8 elementary schools in Newark.
Schilling had lost a game early in the tournament season to Kennedy by 1 point, so everyone expected a great game. Both teams gave it their all and they were within a few points the entire game until the last 2 minutes of the game when Schilling pulled ahead to win the championship 25 to 20.
