I was born and lived in Sweden most of my life so that is the perspective I come with, even though I've lived in the Bay Area for 14 years. I have an American husband, 2 Swenglish kids (12 and 14), a rescue dog, 2 rescue cats and 2 stray chickens. I miss the Swedish archipelago and swimming in the ocean, but California weather is wonderful and the scenery is spectacular. There is so much going on here, and I could not live without KQED. My first blog will be on inequality in education so I get that off my chest. (Out of frustration, I made a website about it two years ago: sosnewark.org).Then I've been thinking of writing about BMX parks and activities for teens in Newark; dog parks and how to find a decent kennel or not; backyard chickens, environment, art, garden stuff;maybe about how great the transit of Venus was and how I wish all kids could have seen it; or I'll write something else. I suppose that's what blogging is...writing something you want to talk about or communicate..and if someone is interested in reading it...you're welcome.
