Since 1983, Newark residents have been studying for exams, meeting about community issues and discovering their new favorite books at the Newark Library. It is located behind the Newark Civic Center and it is part of the Alameda County Library. Architect Aaron Green designed the library, which covers 15,000 square feet. Community groups reserve the library's public meeting room that holds up to 66 people. The library also has a conference room and four study rooms available to members.
