Help Plan Nonprofit's Thanksgiving Day Dinner

Newark-based League of Volunteers is looking for volunteers to assist in coordinating this year's holiday dinner for those in need.

From the League of Volunteers:

You are invited to help plan the  24th Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner.

Anyone wishing to be a part of the core committee and help provide thousands of  Thanksgiving Day meals to those who will spend the day alone, those that don’t have the resources – either money or shelter and to the homebound - please join others at the kick off planning meeting, Tuesday, September 25th at 9:30 a.m.

The meeting will be held at the League of Volunteers – LOV’s Community Service Center, 36120 Ruschin Dr., Newark in the former Ruschin School.

Last year 5,485 meals were served to our guests at the Newark Pavilion and deliveries to the homebound in Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo and Castro Valley.

If you would like to be a part of the planning –call LOV at 510-793-5683.

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

I remember as a teacher buying my own supplies. Looking back I don't regret buying anything andRead More realize that each person's teaching style is different. The things I might buy for my classroom would be totally different than you. Running a classroom is a lot like running a business, there are expenses and you just have to deal with that.

One story I tried to read had an ad covering 1/4 of it, and there was no way to make it go away.

Don't like it at all. "Change" isn't always for the better.
