American Red Cross Hosts Orientation For Prospective Volunteers

The organization will also hold mobile blood drives in the area throughout April.

American Red Cross blood donation centers are looking for volunteers and will be holding an orientation for interested individuals in April.

An orientation at the Newark Blood Donation Center, located at 39227 Cedar Blvd., will be held for Tri-City residents who would like to volunteer at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 9.

People who are interested in joining the volunteer team and join the orientation are asked to contact Anne by calling 510-594-5165 or emailing BlackstoneA@usa.redcross.org.

Red Cross is also planning to hold mobile blood drives throughout this month, and Tri-City residents are encouraged to donate.

One mobile blood drive will be held in the New Student Union of California State University, East Bay from1 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 10. CSU East Bay is located at 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd. in Hawyard.

Another one will be held at Saint Joachim Catholic Church’s Church Hall from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 .

To register for either blood drive, call 800-733-2627 or visit www.redcrossblood.org. Enter sponsor code “CSUEASTBAY” for the April 10 drive or sponsor code “HAYWARD” for the April 24 event.
