Free Summer Concert Series Kicks off in July

Music at the Grove will feature a variety of bands. The series kicks off July 12.

It’s time to groove in the Grove!

Newark’s long-running Music at the Grove concert series kicks off next month on July 12. 

This year, however, the concerts will be held at night on the second and fourth Friday nights in July and August from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Shirley Sisk Grove, next to NewPark Mall, according to the City of Newark website.

The series begins with the Big Bang Beat! on July 12. The self-proclaimed “Ultimate Party Machine,” Big Bang Beat! performs a number of party jams from classics like “Love Shack” to modern hits by Adele. 

On July 26, Night Fever brings their blend of disco, funk, 80s and top 40 covers to the Grove.

Carlos Santana cover band Caravanserai rocks the Grove on Aug. 9, with the Unauthorized Rolling Stones, closing out the series on Aug. 23.

The Food Truck Mafia will also be there to serve up tasty treats while.

Bring a chair and, in case it gets chilly, a blanket and enjoy a fun night out in the Grove.
