City Fall Activities, Classes Registration Opens Wednesday

Registration for non-residents begins Aug. 3.

Registration for fall classes and activities will be open to Newark residents beginning Friday.

The City of Newark Fall Activities Guide can be found online here and the courses are held between August and November. Registration for non-residents begins Aug. 3.

Classes range from dance and sports for adults and children to dog obedience classes for your favorite canine.

Some new Family Fun programs available this upcoming season include:

Family Bingo Night: Play 10 games of Bingo and enjoy dinner (pizza and a drink) during this third Family Bingo Night hosted by the City of Newark’s recreation department. Space is limited and it’s first come first serve.

  • Sept. 7, Doors open 5:15 p.m., Games begin at 6 p.m.
  • $30 for a family of four, $10 for adults (18 years or older) and $6 for children between the ages of 5 and 17 years.

Family Game Night: An opportunity to play numerous classic games with your family. Snacks will be provided.

  • Oct. 20, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • $20 for residents, $22 for non-residents

Family Movie Night: A showing of a recent movie that is enjoyable for the entire family. Snacks will be available for purchase. The event will only allow drop-ins (no pre-registration necessary.)

  • Nov. 17, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • $20 for a family of four who are Newark residents; $22 for a family of four who are non-residents. Single tickets cost $5 for residents and $6 for non-residents

Holiday Drop and Shop: Need a day to yourself to do all of your Holiday shopping? Take advantage of this daycare program for children ages 2-13. Children can make crafts, take part in activities and eat snacks. Children must be potty trained.

  • Dec. 7, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Dec. 15, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • $20 for residents, $22 for non-residents.
