Last Chance To Register For Spring Soccer

Want to get your kids off the couch and on to the field? Are you looking for an activity to keep them healthy this Spring?

Well, the City of Newark has openings for its soccer programs that begin on April 7, so consider this your last chance to register for the following programs.

MOMMY, DADDY & ME SOCCER

• This class is designed for children between the ages of 2 and 3.5. Parents, you don’t have to just watch your children; you can join in the fun! And in this class, your toddler will develop social and motor skills all while being active. Classes are held Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. between April 7 and June 2. Class cost is $94 for residents and $103 for non-residents.

Classes for children between ages 3.5 and 10 offer a non-competitive, recreational setting. Children learn warm-ups, basic soccer skills and get to play some games. Here are the class offering details based on age groups:

TOT/PRE-SOCCER:

• Tot/Pre-soccer classes are offered to children between the ages of 3.5 and 5 and costs $94 for residents and $103 for non-residents. Saturday classes are held from 2:40 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. from April 7 to June 2. Wednesday classes are held from 4:45 p.m. to 5:20 p.m. from April 11 to May 30.

SOCCER I

• Soccer I classes are offered to children between the ages of 5 and 6 costs $94 for residents and $103 for non-residents. Saturday classes are held from 3:50 p.m. to 4 p.m. from April 7 to June 2. Wednesday classes are held from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m. from April 11 to May 30.

SKILLZ/SCRIM

• Skills/Scrim classes are for children between the ages of 7 and 10 and costs $94 for residents and $103 for non-residents. There is also a $7 materials fee that goes toward jerseys. Saturday classes are held from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. from April 7 to June 2. Wednesday classes are held from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. from April 11 to May 30.
