Why Go: It's a great place for teens to go on Friday nights to participate in fun activities such as dodge ball, board games, pool tournaments and basketball.

DON EDWARDS S.F. BAY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
Where/When: Newark Slough Learning Center in Fremont; Saturday at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Learn the history of the salt marshes and the plant and animal life affected by the changes. The event includes a slide show followed by a walk to view a salt marsh and the remains of a salt evaporation pond.
