Wrestling: Cougars Place Third in Marty Manges Wrestling Invitational
Four Newark Memorial wrestling team members captured individual titles.

Congratulations to the Cougar Wrestling Team for placing third out of 25 teams at the Marty Manges Wrestling Invitational at Casa Roble HS in Orangevale. Newark Memorial was only 4 points away from the team title. Ponderosa finished 1st and Del Oro was second.
NM had four individual champions:
- 126 pounds: Anthony Arce (outstanding lightweight)
- 138 pounds: Jacob Pratt
- 145 pounds: Trevor Hubby
- 170 pounds: Victor Pereira.
Elmer Hamidy at 285 pounds was 2nd while 106-pounds Randy Tran and 152-pounds Anthony Rubio were third. At 195 pounds, Andrew Zeigler finished in 7th place.
