Arteaga's Food Center Hosts Newark Health Fair on Saturday

Arteaga's Food Center will be holding its first local Health and Resource Fair on Saturday, June 18 at the Newark Square Shopping Center.

On Tuesday, June 14 Lupe Lopez, owner of Arteaga’s Food Center, was the guest speaker at the Newark Rotary club lunch meeting.  

The Newark Rotary Club meets at noon on Tuesdays at Sinodinos Steakhouse, 36665 Cedar Boulevard Newark. Come over and meet business and community leaders. Guests are welcome.

By focusing on promoting fruits and vegetables as an alternative to sugary sweets, Arteaga’s Food Center have successfully found a way to create an awareness of healthy food alternatives and healthcare services to their communities.

Arteaga’s Food Center, in a joint partnership with State and local agencies, will be holding their 1st local Health and Resource Fair on Saturday, June 18th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Newark Square Shopping Center in Newark, CA.

Free screenings and medical services will be available. This event will be held in collaboration with the Newark Chamber of Commerce, the American Diabetes Association, and the Washington Hospital Healthcare System. 

Representatives from various agencies, such as the California American Diabetes Association, the Network, for Healthy California, Autism Speaks and Laney College and others will be present and be available to provide information on children and families facing problems from obesity, diabetes, domestic violence to obtaining a college education."
