Video: 25th State Assembly Candidate Forum

Watch the video of a candidate forum held in Fremont for two candidates running for the 25th State Assembly.

Assemblyman Bob Wieckowski (D) and ArLyne Diamond (R) are running the 25th Assembly District.

Last week, they took part in a candidate forum in Fremont that was hosted by the League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark and Union City (LWVFNU).

There, the two candidates discussed top issues including top priorities, voting rights, water needs and more.

Both candidates noted that jobs and eudcation were among their top priorities.

"We need to get the economy going," said Wieckowski, who added that his third top priority is the environment and clean technology.

Diamond said she would work to make the region more business friendly and that the state must look at how money is being allocated.

"Not enough of our money is going directly to the students," Diamond said.

The 25th Assembly District is a newly formed district, which resulted from redistricting maps that were finalized last summer. The 25th Assembly District encompasses all of Newark and Milpitas and portions of Fremont and San Jose.

Wieckowski currently represents the 20th State Assembly District.

Watch the video above, which was provided by the LWVFNU,  to see the candidate forum in its entirety. For more information about the League of Women Voters and see future events, visit www.lwvfnuc.org.

I remember as a teacher buying my own supplies. Looking back I don't regret buying anything andRead More realize that each person's teaching style is different. The things I might buy for my classroom would be totally different than you. Running a classroom is a lot like running a business, there are expenses and you just have to deal with that.

One story I tried to read had an ad covering 1/4 of it, and there was no way to make it go away.
