A single lane on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Hayward is closed after a big-rig hit a sign on an overpass this afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash was reported on northbound Highway 880 at the Tennyson Road exit at about 12:20 p.m., Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
Debris from the damaged sign fell into the No. 4 lane. A Sig-alert was issued at 12:51 p.m. Traffic can still exit at Tennyson Road.
No injuries were reported, and there is no estimated time for the lane to reopen.
