Irrigation Improvements May Soon Come to Newark Lake

A project sets out to improve the park's irrigation system

City council will vote on whether to approve a contract with Marina Landscape, Inc. to improve the irrgation system of Lakeshore Park, according to city documents.

Council will meet and is slated to vote on the item at its Thursday meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m.

Known as Project 753, the proposed plan will renovate the park's current irrigation system and will include "installation of a new 6-inch diameter mainline, new valves and a new controller system," according to the Newark City Council March 14 agenda.

The cost of the project was estimated at $380,000 and out of eight bids received since Feb. 28, Marina Landscape, Inc.'s projected total came to approximately $228,000, according to the agenda.
