Welcome Robert "Rubber Stamp" Marshall,if you had any integrity you'd resign ! The voters rejected you so many times you'll never be considered to be anything more than a stooge selected by the three longtime stooges (Larry,Moe & Curly) & the newest stooge (Shemp). Robert "Curly Joe" Marshall, just what Newark needs another stooge !!!

Hating is bad for your young minds fellow Newarkians! It's time spred some good cheer, unite and make positive recommendations. Contribute, become students of change and be about changes then.

This is not about hate Rob - this is about friends. Unfortunately the ones who wanted to make the change were denied the opportunity. Rob, you and I have known Bob for a long time. You and I both know the voters spoke and did not want him in there. You and I both know he will do a fine job there. You and I both know the "Good old boy" reign goes on. Some day the "students of change" might get their chance. Lets just hope they are not so disillusioned by that point that they still want to. I speak from past experience.

Tony and Rob THE GOOD OLD BOY thing don't work well with the voters. This is NOT Texas

I absolutely agree Raider - it should not, but it is alive and well in Newark

"His seat expires in 2014"? Wrong. Newark has odd year elections; voting will take place in 2013. If you all want to affect change in the city one thing to do would be to have even year elections like the school district and Ohlone. The way it is now, the only thing on the ballot is the mayor and council. This leads to low voter turnout and higher election costs which the city must pay. Bring back even year elections when we have more things to vote on and save the city a bundle of money.

Hey Tony: great! let's team up and get some of this young talent into a new Jaycee group for Newark. let's put some of the idealism into action and make something happen. it does take some experience to "run things" vs OJT. the City is much better run than some of the surrounding Cities in the bay area. as far as Margaret's election cycle change, not sure i would agree.
