Free Tax Preparation

Tax returns will be prepared by IRS-certified VITA volunteers for qualified individuals and families with household income of less than $50,000 in 2011. Volunteers will collect and copy your information when you come in and deliver the completed tax returns the following week at the library. Walk-in only; no appointments needed.

Taxpayers should bring the following: Photo ID, Social Security card, W-2s and other tax forms and documents, voided check for direct deposit, copy of last year's return if available, landlord's name, address, and phone number to claim California renter's credit.

For more information, please contact Carolyn Robertson, VITA Coordinator at (510) 574-2020 (press 1 to leave your information) or Barbara Telford-Ishida at btelford-ishida@aclibrary.org.
