Applicant Withdraws Bid for City Council

Richard Watters removes himself from city council applicant pool because of a schedule conflict.

Ohlone Community College District trustee Richard Watters has withdrawn his application for a vacant city council seat.

Watters said he removed himself from the pool of applicants when the city council moved the public interview date to January 30.

That date conflicts with a prior business trip that Watters had scheduled, which means he couldn't physically attend the interviews, Watters said Thursday afternoon. The meeting was originally scheduled for Jan. 19.
