Two Arrested for Trading Laptop for Drugs

Newark Police swept the scene at the Aloft Hotel.


Newark Police arrested two people at the Aloft Hotel for trading a stolen laptop for drugs.

Officers were investigating the crime at about 7:30 p.m. on August 21, when they learned the suspects were at the Aloft Hotel, located in the 8200 block of Gateway Boulevard.   

Alison Lee, 29, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and cocaine. She was also charged with grand theft.  

Vincent Pellegrini, 28, was arrested and charged with grand theft.  The person who accepted the laptop as payment for the drugs is still at large.  Both Lee and Pellegrini were booked into Santa Rita Jail.
