Suspicious Mail Delivered to Fremont Police Station

A Fremont Police Department employee found suspicious mail Monday similar to mail that included mysterious substances delivered to several Bay Area police stations.

Fremont police received suspicious mail Monday morning, making it one of several law enforcement agencies within the Bay Area to have received suspicious mail since Friday.

According to a Fremont Police Department alert, an employee with the department found an envelope of mail around 11 a.m. Monday that looked similar to ones that other police departments have received late last week.

FBI officials will be responding to retrieve the envelope for futher analysis, and Fremont police said they don't anticipate there will be any disruptions to police service.

On Friday, a mysterious substance was found in mail delivered t, including Union City, Hayward, San Leandro and Berkeley. The substance was deemed not hazardous in each city.
