School Lockdown Was Prompted By Gun Sighting
Police said a witness saw a group of strangers with a shotgun.
A reported sighting of a gun-toting individual led to the precautionary noontime lockdown of Milani Elementary Shool on Thursday
At 11:30 a.m. Newark police -- the entire shift, plus officers from theFremont Police Department -- responded to Rockspray Drive after a neighbor reported seeing a shotgun being carried into a house by four strangers.
A perimeter was established and nearby Milani Elementary was advised to shelter-in-place, police said.

Four subjects were ultimately detained as they exited the house. T
he homeowner arrived and identified two of the subjects as his sons. The residence was searched, pursuant to a search clause, and a handgun was located.
