Schilling Elementary, Two Homes Burglarized

A computer, jewelry and cash were taken during the three burglaries.

was burglarized Monday evening, police said.

Authorities responded to the area after a person reported seeing three male suspects, who were only described as black men in their 20s, running away from the school with a computer just before 6:15 p.m., according to a statement.

The trio jumped over a fence and headed west on Thornton Avenue, police said. Another witness said she saw the three male suspects jump a fence from Thornton Avenue onto the backyard of a home on Nutmeg Court.

Three people were detained but the witness "was uncertain on the identity of the suspects," police said. There have been no arrests made in the incident.

The elementary school was not the only place burglarized Monday, according to the police report.

Burglaries were also reported out of two homes on Monday evening, with the first being reported around 6:45 p.m.

Police said someone reported that a home on the 35200 block of Lido Boulevard was burglarized after someone entered the home through a sliding door. Jewelry was taken, police said.

Another burglary was reported on the 36400 block of Ruschin Drive around 9:30 p.m. after a burglar entered through a frount window. Cash was taken, police said.
