Motel 6 Prostitution Sting Leads to Eight Arrests

Seven women and one man were arrested on suspicion of prostitution-related charges.

Multiple agencies throughout Alameda County conducted a sexually exploited children recovery and prostitution out call operation in Newark and made eight arrests Thursday, a Newark police sergeant said.

Thursday's operation was conducted at the Motel 6 at 5601 Mowry Ave. by the Alameda County Vice Enforcement Team from 4 to 10 p.m., said Sgt. Manuel DeSerpa.

Officers would place calls to known pimps and prostitutes, luring them to the motel for services, DeSerpa said.
