Police: Women Arrested After Carrying Knife On Elementary School Campus

The police report states that the woman was spotted with a "large sheathed knife" around 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday.

A 47-year-old transient was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of possession of a knife at an elementary school.

Police said school staff saw the woman at around 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday with a "large sheathed knife." She had previously been involved in a confrontation over riding her bicycle on the campus at 6071 Smith Ave., according to a police report. No injuries were reported.

According to a report from The Argus, the woman had no connection to the school and was arrested off campus. Classes at Bunker Elementary School end at 2:32 p.m.

Officers found the suspect at the gas station at 5799 Mowry Ave., where she was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife on school grounds and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

During a search of her room at the at 5555 Cedar Court, police found the knife, 6.7 grams of methamphetamine and medication that was not prescribed to her, police said.

The woman was booked into Fremont Jail.

Superintendent Dave Marken said the administrators at Bunker Elementary School plan to notify parents through the district's automated phone system.
