Police: Woman Arrested After Hitting Shaker's Pizza Employee

In this week's crime log, police investigate an armed robbery, numerous reports of battery, hit-and-run traffic accidents and more.

The following is a summary of calls made to and arrests made by the Newark Police Department between June 13 and June 19.

Assault and Battery

A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of battery, theft, resisting arrest and public intoxication after she hit employees and stole the tip jar at on June 18, according to the police report. Police said she was upset with the food quality and service. She was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A report of a battery on Mulberry Street was called into the Newark Police Department on June 16.

Burglary and Theft

Two Fremont women were arrested on June 18 after Newark police found a stolen vehicle out of Fremont that had been involved in a hit and run traffic collision. The women were arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle, possession of burglary tools, possession of illegal drugs, possession of a hypodermic syringe and a hit and run. They were booked into Fremont Jail.

Police are searching for three men after a report of an armed burglary at Food Maxx on June 13. It is the second armed robbery at the 24-hour supermarket in a four-week period. Read more about that incident .

Two juveniles were arrested on suspicion of burglary at Macy's in NewPark Mall on June 17.

A report of a burglary on Birch Street was called into the Newark Police Department on June 16.

A report of a robbery on Cedar Boulevard was called into the Newark Police Department on June 14.

A juvenile was cited on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property at Macy's in NewPark Mall on June 14.

A report of identity theft was called into the Newark Police Department on June 13.

Alcohol and Drugs

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and resisting arrest at Cedar Boulevard and Lafayette Avenue on June 19. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving without his license and possession of Vicodin and Codeine at Newark Boulevard at Musick Avenue on June 13. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

Traffic Incidents

Two hit and run incidents were called into the Newark Police Department on June 16. The first occurred at 3:30 p.m. at NewPark Mall and the second occurred just after 5 p.m. on Newark Boulevard.

A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of a hit and run on June 16.
