Thanksgiving Fire Damages Home, Appears To Not Be Related to Cooking

A one-alarm fire damaged a two-story home on Biscay Place on Thursday afternoon. Fire officials said one person was home at the time and was taken to a local hospital for a medical condition that is unrelated to the fire. .

Woman Arrested After Threatening Store Manager

A 21-year-old Newark woman was arrested on suspicion on using offensive words in a public place that could provoke violent reactions after officers responded to Ramirez’s Meat Market off Newark Boulevard around 4:18 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25.

Siblings Fight, Get Arrested For Being Drunk in Public

A 20-year-old Newark woman and 22-year-old Union City man were arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public after police responded to the front of on Bettencourt Street to a report of a group fighting around 12:20 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25. The pair are siblings and were both booked into Fremont Jail.

Fire Damages Business off Sycamore

A one-alarm fire in a business off of Sycamore Street caused $10,000 worth of damage on the morning. Of Wednesday, Nov. 23 No injuries were reported and the fire was contained within 15 minutes. to read more about the fire.

Man Arrested After Passing Out in Front of Dry Cleaners

A 24-year-old Newark man who passed out on the sidewalk near Complete Dry Cleaners on Thornton Avenue was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public  around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

Drugs and Alcohol

A 23-year-old Fremont man was arrested and cited on suspicion of possession of more than 28.5 grams of marijuana and driving without a license around 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26 at Cedar Boulevard and Thornton Avenue.

A 20-year-old Twentynine Palms resident and a 24-year-old Oakland resident were arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public around 1:08 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27 at the off Cedar Court. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A 42-year-old San Jose woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after an officer saw the driver weaving and entering Highway 880 without any headlights on. The driver did not stop until Decoto. The woman was booked into Fremont Jail.

A 25-year-old Newark man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public when officers responded to a report of a disturbance on the 37000 block of Walnut Street at 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

A 46-year-old woman and a 44-year old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and trespassing after officers found them inside of the former Circuit City building during a security check around 4:15 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 21. They were both booked into Fremont Jail.

Burglary and Theft

Police officers found a stolen vehicle at around 12:23 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27.
