Homeless Man Fondles Himself On Fire Hydrant

A 47-year-old homeless man was arrested around 2:18 a.m. on Saturday after police responded to Willow Drive and Cabot Court to a report of a naked man sitting on a fire hydrant fondling himself. The man was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and was booked into Santa Rita Jail. Around 1:46 p.m. Saturday, police received a report of a man exposing himself in the area of Dalewood Drive and after learning the description of his clothing believe he was the same man but were unable to locate him.

Man Jumps Out of Bus, Police Find Stolen Glasses

While officers were searching an AC Transit bus while investigating a report of a man exposing himself (see above) around 1:46 p.m., a man jumped out of the vehicle’s emergency window and ran. Officers found that the man who fled discarded several Oakley sunglasses before he ran off. A 16-year-old Brentwood resident who was sitting next to the suspect who fled was arrested for a warrant for possession of stolen property. The man who fled was not located.

Fatal Collision Claims Two Lives

A was killed after his car was struck by another vehicle occupied by three burglary suspects Wednesday morning. One of the three burglary suspects two days after the collision that occurred at the intersection of Cherry Street and Mowry Avenue. to read more.

Two Men Robbed Within Four Minutes

A pair of Newark men suffered injuries to their faces after they were robbed within four minutes of each other on the 6100 block of Joaquin Murieta on Wednesday. One of the men reported that one of the suspects had a knife. Read the full report by .

Woman Robbed of Purse

Police are searching for a pair who is described to be two males in their late teens after a woman reported her purse was taken from her on the 6300 block of Joaquin Murieta around 3:48 p.m. on Tuesday. No injuries were reported. to read the full report.

Homeless Man Takes Own Life

A man was found dead of an apparent suicide at the Hotel off Cedar Boulevard shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday. His identity was not released but he is said to be a transient who was 56 years old. 

Officer Assaulted During Traffic Stop

An officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Newark Boulevard near Civic Terrace Avenue around 10:11 p.m. on Sunday when the driver, a 21-year-old Newark resident, attempted to assault the officer. The man was arrested on suspicion of assault against a peace officer and driving without a license. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

Man Rides Motorcyle On Wrong Side of the Road

Police responded to reports of a motorcyclist driving without lights on the wrong side of the road on Sycamore Street around 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday and found the abandoned motorcycle at the on Thornton Avenue. Police responded to the home of the registered owner and found the injured driver who had crashed the motorcyclist. The motorist was taken to a local hospital and was treated for minor injuries.

Burglary and Theft

Police are investigating the theft of a utility trailer sometime over the weekend of Jan. 14-16. The trailer was stolen from Oak Street and is described a tan over black Big Tex trailer, approximately 5’ x 8’ with a license plate that reads 1BV8223.

A minor was arrested around 8 p.m. on Jan. 16 on suspicion of petty theft at at .

Drugs and Alcohol

A 21-year-old homeless man was arrested for a DUI warrant on the 35000 block of Maidstone Ct. around 11:13 p.m. Sunday.

A 51-year-old transient was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at the around 11:49 a.m. on Saturday.

A 24-year-old Newark man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on the 35000 block of Lake Boulevard around 2:13 a.m. on Friday. He was booked into Fremont Jail. The driver’s passenger, a 19-year-old transient, was arrested for public intoxication and was booked into Santa Rita Jail. 

A 54-year-old man was arrested after police responded to a report of a man down at Cedar Boulevard and Music Avenue around 4 p.m. on Thursday. The man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and possession of methamphetamine and was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A Hayward man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at Thornton Avenue at Interstate 880 around 1:48 a.m. on Tuesday. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

A 72-year-old homeless man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at Cedar Boulevard and Moores Avenue around 8:15 pm. on Monday. He was cited from Washington Hospital in Fremont.

The things I might buy for my classroom would be totally different than you. Running a classroom is a lot like running a business, there are expenses and you just have to deal with that.
