Police: Two Arrested After Liquor Store Robbery

Burglary and Theft

A man and two minors were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary at the Lake district on May 29. Read more about that incident .

Two Newark men were arrested after attempting to steal liquor from on May 25. A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and burglary, while a 24-year-old man was arrested on public intoxication. Police said the two entered the store intending to buy liquor but ran off with a bottle of alcohol after one of their ATM cards would not work. While running, the 22-year-old dropped the bottle and broke it and came back to steal a second bottle, the police report said. Officers arrested the pair in the store's parking lot. Both were booked at the Fremont Police Department Jail Facility.

A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and on two no-bail warrants during a traffic stop on May 28.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary at the in NewPark Mall. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A juvenile was brought into custody on suspicion of burglary at the store at NewPark Mall on May 26.

Drugs and Alcohol

Police arrested a Brentwood man after they received reports that a red Jeep was driving erratically through the city on May 25. A homeowner phond the department to report that the motorist had driven on her front lawn. The 41-year-old man was found and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

A 43-year-old man was taken into police custody on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and resisting arrest on May 28. An officer first made contact with the man when he attempted a pedestrian stop on Ravenwood Drive. The man took off running and the foot chase went over fences until ending at the Newark Community Park, the police report said.

Accidents

Police responded to a hit-and-run traffic collision at the parking lot of on May 28. No injuries were reported. That same day, police arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with a separate hit-and-run accident on Ruschin Drive.

Other

Three men were arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest during a fight at Gubrera’s Pub on May 29.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest after police responded to a disturbance at Foxwood Condominiums on May 28.
