I thought the Mayor said Newark doesn't have a gang problem, doesn't that make you feel safer?

No one feels safe in Newark. When our children grow up and move on, so will most of us. When we waste time talking about what store should replace the one that has closed it is a waste of time. We have far more important things to worry about. Little thugs are climbing in our Dog doors and we are being terrorized where ever we go.Our wives and children are not safe. Cmon, the Dog door? Dogs don't even scare them off. Nothing we are seeing from our city is making us believe it will change. It will be nice to watch the uncontrolable Wild West from a distance since no one hears our crys for help.

Actually, contrary to mythology, the Wild West was quieter and safer than the NYC of the era. The mining camps were violent - but they had nothing on Five Points and Hell's Kitchen. The sole purpose of our civic leaders seems to be in taking bad advice from staff members - and cutting deals that enrich cronies while neglecting the quality of life in the city. We just lost another family; they have left Newark for better schools and less crime; and their house has become yet another absentee owner rental.

I already mob across Newark with Body Armor (Ballistic & Stab Resistant), not because I'm afraid but because I gotta protect my investment (Camera Gear). Anyone actively targeting me will HAVE to be a decent shot at Moderate to Long Range, once they are close enough they become fair game. ;) I used to only wear Protection when I was in certain areas of Newark such as Old Newark, now I just wear it all the time. I don't pretend it makes me invincible, but it does improve my chances of surviving an Attack and that's the point. If you can Splurge, grab some Armor!
