Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call police. Do you know this man?

Newark police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect they believe stole several bicycles from Newark Memorial High School last week.

The suspect was caught on camera taking at least two bikes from the school at 39375 Cedar Blvd. last Thursday morning, police said.

The suspect is described by police as a white man in his late 30s who is about 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 9 inches tall with brown graying collar-length hair, a mustache and a pock-marked face.

Police said he was wearing a tan baseball cap, a brown jacket, black pants and black-and-white shoes when he stole the bicycles.

Newark police said anyone with information about the thefts should call school resource officer Ryan Johnson at (510) 578-4934. They said information can also be left anonymously on their silent witness hotline at (510) 578-4000, ext. 500.
