Police Investigate Overnight Drive-By Shooting

Authorities say they have not determined whether the shooting is gang related.

Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred Thursday night.

Newark police responded to the 39600 block of Locust Street, off of Thornton Avenue and west of Sycamore Street, to a report of shots fired just before 9 p.m., police said.

Authorities said they found several bullets struck a home and two parked vehicles, according to a press release.

No one was injured, but Sgt. Chomnan Loth said one person was in the home when the shooting occurred.

Police are still investigating the incident and Loth said that officers are working to determine whether the incident was gang related.
