Homeless Man Arrested After Stealing Beers

A 37-year-old homeless man was arrested on after officers responded to at 6 p.m. on Jan. 8 and learned that the man had broken into the restaurant and stole beer. The man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of methamphetamine, three outstanding warrants and violating a restraining order that prohibits him from being near the business. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Police Chase Leads to Arrest of Man With Felony Warrants

A 21-year-old man with two warrants was arrested after police tried to stop him in a car around 12 a.m. on Jan. 7. During the car chase, the man stopped his car and ran on foot into Fremont. Police caught him and arrested him for his two felony warrants for robbery and drug possession and also arrested him on suspicion of felony evasion in a vehicle and delaying arrest. No injuries were reported.

Man Wields Knife At Man After He Steals Credit Cards

A knife-wielding man was arrested after he tried crawling away with an injured ankle from a man chasing him for stealing his girlfriend's credit card on Jan. 6. Police said the man chased him after he tried to use the credit card he stole earlier that day. The man is also suspected to be responsible for a robbery at that also occurred on Jan. 6. Man Arrested For Shuttling Marijuana and Hashish Oil

A 24-year-old Sacramento man was arrested during a traffic stop on Jarvis Avenue around 7:40 p.m. on Jan. 5. He was arrested on suspicion of transporting and possessing multiple pounds of marijuana and approximately 75 vials of Hash oil. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Man Drives Car Into Business Park, Can’t Drive it Out

A 53-year-old Newark man was arrested around 12:35 a.m. on Jan. 5 after officers learned he had driven his van into the Balentine Business Park and couldn’t drive it off of the lawn. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Electronics and Perfume Stolen in Home Burglary

Police responded to a report of a home burglary on the 7800 block of Wells Avenue around 1:07 p.m. on Jan. 5. Police said the suspect(s) entered the house by smashing a rear sliding glass door between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. The missing items include a 42” Samsung LCD TV, Sony 16-megapixel Cybershot camera, Panasonic video camera, an eMachines laptop and Giovanni and Obsession perfumes.

Teens Arrested After Group Nabs Woman’s Purse

Two teens, ages 14 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of delaying an investigation after a it was reported that six males robbed a woman of her purse near off Newark Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 4. for the full report.

Assaults and Batteries

A 49-year-old Newark man was arrested on Exeter Court after police said he struck his elderly father around 10:50 a.m. on Jan. 8. The man was arrested on suspicion of battery and unlawful and malicious damages to a telephone. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

A 30-year-old Newark man was arrested from a home on Newark Boulevard after police responded to the report of a domestic violence incident around 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 5. The man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. 

A 21-year-old Newark man was arrested on the 36500 block of Deborah St. after officers responded to the home to a report of a family disturbance around 4:42 p.m. on Jan. 4. The man was arrested on suspicion of battery and booked into Fremont Jail.

Burglaries, Robberies and Thefts

A 19-year-old Fremont woman was arrested on suspicion of embezzlement and petty theft at at around 7 p.m. on Jan. 7. She was cited and released at the scene.

Two male teens were arrested on suspicion of petty theft at at around 5:54 p.m. on Jan. 5. They were released to their parents.

A Newark police officer arrested a 17-year-old male in Fremont on suspicion of possession of known stolen property from an earlier investigation around 10:39 a.m. on Jan. 5.

Police completed a citizen’s arrest around 6:14 p.m. at Safeway on Jan. 4. The person arrested was an 18-year-old Union City man who was arrested on suspicion of petty theft, possession of methamphetamine and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

A 31-year-old Fremont man was arrested by a citizen and then by Newark police at at around 11:42 a.m. on Jan. 2. He was arrested on suspicion of petty theft with prior convictions and was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

Drugs and Alcohol

A 32-year-old man was arrested for three outstanding warrants and on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on the 37500 block of Enterprise Court around 8:20 p.m. on Jan. 8.

An 18-year-old Concord man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia after police officers provided assistance to his eviction from a room at the at 2:23 a.m. on Jan. 7. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

A 62-year-old man was arrested after police officers responded to a report of a man passed out on the center island at Thornton Avenue around 7:57 p.m. on Jan. 5. He was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

A 55-year-old Newark man was arrested at Arteaga’s Taqueria on suspicion of being drunk in public and violating a court order at 12:58 p.m. on Jan. 5.

A 50-year-old Newark man was arrested on the 7700 block of Iverness Drive around 7:37 a.m. on Jan. 2 for an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was booked into Fremont Jail.

The things I might buy for my classroom would be totally different than you. Running a classroom is a lot like running a business, there are expenses and you just have to deal with that.
