Police Conduct Investigation at Newark Square Shopping Center

Nature of investigation is unknown but an employee of a business in the center said police activity could be linked to reported stabbing.

Police are investigating a crime that has occurred in the Newark Square Shopping Center on Thornton Avenue.

Acting Watch Commander and Officer Karl Geser said no details are being released about the nature of the investigation at this time.

Employees at and said authorities have been on scene since approximately 6:30 p.m. and that they did not hear or see anything.

Though unconfirmed, one employee said the police activity might be linked to a reported stabbing.

Police have blocked off the parking lot between and . Geser did not have an estimated time on when authorities will be clearing the area.
