Police and SWAT Team at Moores Street and Birch Avenue

No details are yet available on the police activity.

Patch readers are reporting that a Newark Police SWAT team has been in the Moores Street and Birch Avenue neighborhood since about 7 a.m.

There was a report of gunshots being fired. The streets have been blocked off around Jacaronda and Moores and Lavender, residents of the neighborhood say.

We do not yet have any additional details about this police activity. We will update this story when more information is available.

One story I tried to read had an ad covering 1/4 of it, and there was no way to make it go away.
