Pair of Men Sought After Two Home Burglaries

The two were last seen fleeing in a mid-1990s, green Lexus.

Police are searching for two men after a pair of homes were burglarized within 30 minutes Tuesday evening.

The first burglary was reported around 6:50 p.m. on the 35800 block of Spruce Street after burglars entered the home through a rear window, according to Newark police.

While police were investigating, the second burglary was reported on the 6100 block of Marguerite Drive.

Police said the homeowner interrupted the second burglary.

No arrests have been made, but police are following up on leads, according to Sgt. Ray Hoppe.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic males in their early 20s. They were both last seen wearing white T-shirts and one was wearing a cowboy style hat. Police said it is believed they fled in a mid-1990s, green Lexus.

These reports are really helful to those of us who pay close attention to how entry was made. It also points out how vitally important it is for neighbors to watch out for each other via NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH. Even if they don't see the thugs enter the yard, it's possible that someone may have seen something suspicious before the burglaries happened, Police need all the clues they can get to help them identify the culprits. We all need to work harder to help keep each other safe.
