Newark Woman Arrested In Clubbing Incident

20-year-old Jasmine Ann Minjarez has since been arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

A Newark woman was detained and her alleged victim was treated for minor injuries that resulted from an altercation that brought police cars swarming around the Psychic Reader shop on Thornton Avenue Thursday morning.

According to a police press release, at 11:08 a.m. officers were called to the 6000 block of Thornton Avenue to investigate a possible assault with a deadly weapon, which was described as a blunt object.

Police said the victim and suspect were both on the scene when officers arrived.

The presumed victim was treated and released from the hospital.

The suspect, Jasmine Ann Minjarez, 20, of Newark, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities said the incident remains under investigation.
