Newark Man Helps Victims of Boston Marathon Attacks

Noah Falck, 18, of Newark, helped comfort others amid the chaos of the bombings in Boston.

A Newark man was among the brave Boston Marathon runners to help others following Monday’s horrific bombings.

According to the Fremont Argus, 18-year-old Noah Falck, completed the marathon 90 minutes before the explosions and was a few blocks away when he heard them go off.

Instead of running away, Falck raced to the nightmarish scene, where three people were killed and 176 injured.

“I was OK, but I knew that there were people out there who needed help,” Falck told the Argus.

"I was just one of hundreds willing to do the same thing," he added. "That speaks volumes about not only Boston, but also the running community and the nation itself."

According to the Argus, Falck helped with crowd control and tried to comfort those traumatized by the attack.

Falck, a freshman at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, also helped people retrieve their belongings and found a suspicious bag, which he gave to authorities.

He assisted at the scene for six hours and spent the night in a nearby town before flying into northern California Tuesday where he united with his mother, Holly Flack, a teacher at Fremont's Washington High School.
