Newark Home Burglary, Police Chase Ends in 3 Arrests

Officers are reaching out to the public for information on two residential burglaries near Joaquin Murieta Avenue Friday.

A police chase near Joaquin Murieta Avenue ended in the arrests of three people connected to two residential burglaries Friday.

Commander Donna Shearn said officers recovered stolen property from two locations after they arrested a 22-year-old Fremont man and two Newark youths.

Shearn said officers were responding to reports of three people kicking in the door at a residence on the 6100 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue around 2:25 p.m. Officers at the scene saw two males and one female running away.

“Officers quickly set up a perimeter and eventually arrested all three suspects after an extensive area search and foot pursuit,” Shearn said in a news release.

According to Shearn, investigators discovered another residential burglary  had occurred near the first location. That’s when officers found the stolen property from both homes.

“All three are being charged pending arrangement with burglary, and for fleeing from officers,” Shearn said.

Investigators are reaching out to the public for more information on this incident. Shearn said anyone with information may call Newark police at (510) 578-4237. You may leave information anonymously at (510) 578-4965.

One story I tried to read had an ad covering 1/4 of it, and there was no way to make it go away.
