A Fremont teenager reported missing Friday morning has been located, police said.

Kristina Krag, 15, was found safe in Modesto by Modesto police on Saturday and has returned home, said Fremont Police Spokeswoman Geneva Bosques.

Authorities began searching for the teenager after she went missing from her Fremont home in the Glennmoor neighborhood around 4 p.m. Thursday.

She was considered at risk because is a special needs teenager who has the mental capacity of a 7- or 8-year-old,  is not on medication but sees a psychologist weekly.

Krag's father did note that he was worried the teenager was trying to track down her mother who was last living in Modesto.

Not to sound like a Jerk, but what Parent allows their Mentally Challenged Child whether Adult or Minor go for walks Alone? I understand you got a Life and need to Work etc but at least either get a Caretaker or very least a GPS Enabled Tracking Chip. Hope she's found Safe though and will keep an Eye out.

I work as a substitute and have seen her at school before. My prayers are with her and her father. This is every parents nightmare.
