Man Robs 7 Eleven of Cash and Cigarettes

An armed robbery of the store was reported early Sunday morning.

Police are seeking a man believed to be connected to an armed robbery of a 7 Eleven store, police said.

Police were called to the  on the corner of Thornton Avenue and Sycamore Street around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.

It was reported that a man, wearing a mask, pulled out a handgun, pointed it at an employee and demanded cash, said Commander Bob Douglas of the Newark Police Department. The man also ordered the employee to give him cigarettes.

The robber was last seen heading eastbound on foot.

The man is described as between 25 and 30 years of age, 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds with a dark complexion. He was wearing black gloves and black pants.
