Police said a male suspect approached the victim just before 3 p.m. on the 3800 block of Walnut Avenue, across from the and near HSBC Bank.

The suspect then asked the victim where the library was and that when the victim, who was walking to work, starting using his cell phone to look up directions to the library, the suspect began hitting him until he lost consciousness, police said.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to Fremont police.

Several hours later, police responded to another theft in which a woman was robbed of her backpack at the Northgate Savoy Apartments.

Damn, I'm sick of this crap happening around the bay area. If we all carried guns this wouldn't happen!!! Both of my parents were given a concealed weapons permit to carry a gun. And let me tell you they were not afraid to use it if need be. If all law abiding Americans were allowed to carry guns. Then people would think before they committed these types of crimes. After all the criminals carry guns. Why not level the playing fiel? Just sayin.
