Man Arrested In Newark For Attempted Murder In Stockton

The man was booked into Santa Rita Jail.

A man was arrested from a Newark home early Friday morning on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.

Shemick F. Watts, 36, was arrested after officers responded to a home on the 5100 block of Dupont Avenue to a report of a disturbance, according to a police report released Friday.

There, they found Watts who is wanted for an attempted homicide in Stockton, police said.

Watts initially did not want to comply and additional units were called until he was detained, police added.

Watts is being held on a $1 million bail at Santa Rita Jail, according to online court documents.
