Firefighters Extinguish Blaze at Newark Shopping Mall
The fire started just after 8 a.m. this morning
The Alameda County Fire Department knocked down a 1-alarm fire at a single-story shopping mall in Newark this morning, according to a department dispatcher.
Firefighters were sent to the blaze at 8:01 a.m. today in the 36600 block of Newark Blvd. at Mayhews Landing Road about a half west of Interstate Highway 880, the dispatcher said.
County fire crews doused the 1-alarm fire at the mall at 8:20 a.m. and no one was reported injured, firefighters said.
